Liverpool’s journey in the International Champions Cup has seen them losing against Chelsea with a final scoreboard of 1-0 in favor of Antonio Conte’s team.

Liverpool just couldn’t find a way past the defensive scheme that was set up by Antonio Conte as the Italian manager was directing one of his first competitive matches as the coach of Chelsea.

The team of Jurgen Klopp did manage to bounce back from their defeat against Chelsea as they overcame Ac.Milan in their latest International Champions Cup match which was played at the Levi’s Stadium in California on July 31st.

Divock Origi and Roberto Firmini scored all the goals in this game and both of them found the back of the net in the 2nd half. Liverpool had 60% of possession as the English outfit was the dominant team of the match and simply performed better than Ac.Milan.

Jurgen Klopp was extremely proud about how his team performed in this game as he talked to the media following the conclusion of the match and the German manager said:

“We did really well and scored the goals and wonderful goals and had one or two more chances. In the first half we had four or five big moments. Playing dominant football like this and then reacting on balls we lose, like we did in the counter-pressing situations that’s the only moment where there should be a little moment of hectic, all the rest should be calm and dominant. I’m pleased with the performance of the whole team.”

During the 2015-16 season of the Premier League, Liverpool had to settle with the 8th spot which was not enough for them to qualify for a European competition in the upcoming season. However, this performance is what Jurgen Klopp and his team might have needed to spark a breath of life which can help in their approaching matches.
